Rising Bahamian Florida artist and songwriter She Milly is known for her raw edgy ‘Bahama Mama’ style, alongside her passionate stage presence. “Milly!” The title alone describes her ambition; it signifies her million-dollar skills, style, and dreams. Her love for writing became her therapy, which later transformed into lyrics amongst her family and peers. Her ability to write and record music were all influenced by some of the industry’s most prominent artists such as Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, Tupac, Notorious BIG, Lil Wayne, and Jay Z. In an industry of many great influences, Milly sees herself as an instrument that orchestrates ‘a vibe’ beyond the 700 islands of The Bahamas with club rocking bangers such as “Good Time” and her latest release ‘Birthday’. Meanwhile shedding light on those fun, real, and interesting aspects of life within her music, she is the former spokesperson for the Bahamas’ largest Telecommunication Company (BTC) where she organized jingles as an advertisement tool to promote electronics throughout the Caribbean. After her affiliation with BTC, which was her first step into the professional music world, She Milly has advanced tremendously. As an Independent artist (unsigned), ‘She’ has performed as an opening act for many A list headliners such as Cardi B, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Dj Khaled, Trina, Popcaan, Alkaline, Waka Flocka, Rasheeda, Jah Cure, Collie Buddz, and many more. Milly is a visionary and a known artist to The Bahamas’ media/radio stations. She has charted on local stations as well as Bahamian cable tv with hits like Good Time, A Hunnid %, Have Fun, Bring it Back, Money Talks, just to name a few, and is also a co director of many of her music videos, which are available via YouTube and on one of the world’s largest media sites which is Worldstarhiphop.com. “ I love filming and co-directing my videos, they help me to illustrate my true emotions and ideas after creating a song.” Her passion for music has all derived from lessons experienced, as she continues to ‘tell her side of the story’. Now working on an EP and more material for future release she says, “as an artist you can never stop learning, creating, and growing, I’m excited about the journey and where this road is leading, I vow to be remembered.”
